National Housing Scheme
National Housing Scheme is one of the Housing Schemes that realising the determination
of the Government under His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Dipertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam,
in implementing its policy in providing all its citizen with proper accommodation
in pleasant environment, with the citizen households owning their own houses.
National Housing Scheme is also one of the sort of housing scheme designs for those
without land to build their own houses under which housing units are made available
at subsidised prices to be paid over a period of 20 to 30 years.
In order to realizing this determination, Housing Development Department has
been entrusted by His Majesty The Sultan and Yang Dipertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam
Government, to be responsible in the Planning, Design, Implementation as well as
Maintenance of the National Housing Scheme for Negara Brunei Darussalam.
Conditions For Applying The National Housing Schemes
- Applicant must be a citizen of His Majesty The Sultan and Yang
Dipertuan Negara Brunei Darussalam
- Applicant must be 18 years old and above.
- Applicant or spouse does have registered land OR have registered land that cannot
be developed based on the government criteria and upon approval.
- Applicant must be a government employee and is entitle for a housing loan that
enables him/her to develop his/her own house according to a circular that has been/
will be enforced from time to time.
- For a government employee who is not entitle for a housing loan and a non-government
employee applicant, must have an income of not less than B$445.00 and not more than
B$3030.00 a month.
